Our Ancestral Families

Our Ancestral Family are families that we descended from for example:

  1. The Griner Family is on my maternal side of my family, my maternal great-grandfather Charles Griner was a descendant of the South New Jersey Griner Family.
  2. The McAllister Family is on my maternal side of my family, my maternal great-grandmother is Anna Gertrude McAllister (1st wife of Charles Griner), her father was Henry Francis McAllister.
  3. The Elwell Family is on my maternal side of my family, my maternal great-grandfather Charles Griner was a descendant of the Elwell Family of Gloucester, Massachusetts some of their Elwell relatives later soon moved to Salem County, New Jersey.
  4. The Bassett Family of Lynn, Massachusetts is on my maternal side of my family, my maternal great-grandfather Charles Griner was a descendant of the Bassett Family of Lynn, Massachusetts.
  5. The Burnett Family of Southampton, Long Island is on my maternal side of my family, my maternal great-grandfather Charles Griner’s paternal 5th great-grandmother was Priscilla Burnett, her father was Thomas Burnett Jr. (a grandson of Alexander Burnett, 11th of Laird of Leys and Katherine Arbuthnot and a 2nd great-grandson of Alexander Burnett, 9th Laird of Leys and Lady Janet Hamilton) (Lady Janet Hamilton is a granddaughter of James Hamilton, 1st Lord Hamilton and Princess Mary Stewart, The Countess of Arran).
  6. The Cooper Family of Southampton, Long Island is on my maternal side, my maternal great-grandfather was a descendant of the Cooper Family of Southampton, Long Island. Priscilla Burnett’s mother was Mary Cooper, daughter of John Cooper Sr. and Wibroe Griggs, (wife of Thomas Burnett Jr.)
